Purpose built for Australian health funds

Most funds we talk to aren’t looking to upgrade their portal for its own sake - they’re responding to a platform that can no longer keep pace: release cycles set by a vendor’s roadmap, security posture reliant on third-party control, and digital channels now carrying more member expectation than the platform can support.

This creates a widening gap between what the platform supports and what your business needs.

The real risk is staying constrained by a platform that can’t keep pace.

What members & staff
can do with DMS

Originally built for Doctors' Health Fund, DMS is now used by private health insurance funds across Australia for member servicing, claims access and digital self-service.

Since 2019, 100% of DMS licence fees have gone straight back into the platform - over $2 million invested in security, resilience and member experience in the past three years alone, shaped by a roadmap built with partner funds.

Mobile and desktop screen on the DMS
  • Manage claims & membership

Submit and track claims, view remaining limits and usage, access policy and cover information.

  • Stay secure

MFA and identity management, password and access management, member communications and account updates.

  • Interact anywhere with mobile parity

Native iOS and Android apps, Apple Wallet and Google Wallet membership cards, one consistent experience across web and mobile.

  • Support your members with operational tools

Admin capabilities for your support team, investigation tools for access issues, less reliance on manual processes.

Designed to improve
your risk position

Security isn’t a compliance exercise at the end of delivery. DMS is built for the security and privacy requirements Australian private health insurers operate under, from the ground up.

It's structured for internal audit readiness, with traceability and structured logging built in, ongoing vulnerability management aligned to standards including OWASP, and controlled release processes that reduce the chance of new risk entering the platform.

  • ISO 27001 & 9001 certified, audited by independent assessors

  • Aligned to APRA CPS 234, with MFA support built in

  • Built to WCAG 2.1 AA accessibility standards (read our statement of accessibility here)

  • A smaller attack surface than most legacy platforms, and more control over when security improvements land - rather than waiting on a vendor's roadmap

A staged member platform transition

Built for a controlled transition

Platform transitions fail when complexity is underestimated.

Our approach is built to control it directly: staged rollout to avoid full cutover risk, defined integration layers that isolate complexity early, governance and oversight through every stage of delivery, and circuit breakers to limit member impact if something goes wrong. Implementations typically run around six months, with a detailed schedule provided upfront.

We’ve delivered platforms in environments with high concurrency and strict operational requirements, and we’ve got a referenceable client list of funds on DMS who can verify how simple we make the process.

Hear from other health funds

From a full portal rebuild for Doctors' Health Fund to configuring DMS for Hunter Health Insurance and Latrobe Health, here's what funds say about running on the platform.

“We didn’t just need a new platform, we needed a partner who could help us modernise while staying true to our members. They’re not just vendors, they’re collaborators in our ongoing evolution.”

How much can we customise the portal and app?

Your fund’s branding, content and configuration are applied across the member experience, so DMS presents as your own portal and app. Where you need functionality that isn’t already part of the platform, we can design and build that too. The advantage of white-label is that you start with the common member journeys already built, then invest in the areas where your fund genuinely needs something different.

Can I see it live?

Yes. Request a demonstration and we can walk your team through the portal’s features and answer your questions.

What can our team manage without Airteam?

DMS includes administration and content management tools so your team can manage day-to-day member content and configuration without raising a development request for every change. For changes that do require development, Airteam can continue to maintain and extend the platform. The aim is to keep routine control with your team while giving you technical support when the underlying software needs to change.

How long does it take to migrate to DMS?

A typical migration takes around three to six months. The exact timeline depends on your existing configuration, integrations and any fund-specific functionality required. We work through those dependencies upfront so the migration plan reflects what you need from it.

How do you manage security and regulatory requirements?

DMS is designed for the security requirements of Australian private health insurance, including multi-factor authentication, person-based authentication and controls around member data and access. Airteam operates under an ISO 27001-certified information security management system, and DMS has been designed with APRA requirements in mind. We’ll also work through your fund’s own security, risk and governance requirements during implementation.

How much does DMS cost?

Pricing depends on your fund size, implementation requirements and any fund-specific functionality you need. Before you commit, we map out your expected spend across implementation and licensing for the next five years, so you can see the longer-term cost of running DMS without surprise increases along the way.
